Hi fellas,

I've been looking around to find some decent car seat covers for some Recaro SR3's, but I'm not convinced on the most common ones available from Capital Seating (look like they're raincoat material to me).

I want something that my sweat is not going to go through (when I go for a run etc) so has to be waterproof but also not feel like I'm slipping and sliding on the covers.

While I was searching I came across 'neoprene' seat covers - wetsuit material - that an Australian company makes out in Sydney.

What do you guys think on this? Check out the tailor made ones in the WRX below:

Neoprene is expensive and overkill for seat covers.

Just double up on cheapo seat covers if you must.

spend the money on a sheet of neoprene and make new tail light seals.

Seat covers are ugly.

Yeh whether ugly or not seat covers are there to do a job imo - easy enough to take off when you don't want them on for whatever reason anyway and to tell you the truth they actually aren't that much more expensive compared to the Capital Seating ones everyone goes on about:

Capital Seating = $68 x 2 + $15 postage = $151
Neoprene = $169 (and comes with red stitching too!)

Anyone have the Capital Seating car covers???

yeah Honda has Neoprene seat covers as an option for FD civic and NEW Jazz also I think..

they are really nice and resist ehte ghetto stretching that all other seatcovers get.. they kinda hug your seats like wearing a wet suit.

yep, you're spot on man.

I randomly came across them on ebay for FD and I think Euro as well.

Just got a reply from the sales guy about getting them for SR3:

Dear Sales,

I am very interesting in getting some more information on the seat covers
you would have available to fit a 1998 Honda Integra DC2 Type-R.

The factory front seats are semi-bucket Recaro SR3's - do you have an off
the shelf (universal fitting) item that would fit these seats (front only)?
Like most semi-bucket seats it does have some large bolsters on the base of
the seat and around the sides so this is my main concern.

Also, could you please quote me on a custom order if I was to order a tailor
made set?

Thank you,
Alvis

Good afternoon Alvis,

Thank you for your interest in The Wet Seat neoprene seat covers for your
1998 Honda Integra.

Unfortunately our universal fitting Wet Seat covers are designed for fitting
onto bucket seats where the headrests are removable, as this is not the case
in your vehicle we would be required to make a complete tailor made version.
That being said we would need the vehicle to be brought in for a measure up,
if you are the Sydney metro area are you able to bring the vehicle in for a
couple of hours?

The cost for a pair of tailor made covers for your vehicle is $250.

If I may be of further assistance to you please feel free to let me know.

I think $250 is way too steep for covers - even though I'm sure they would be nice and do a good job.

Much easier to keep using the towel I have and change your shirt if you go for a run before getting back in the car lol.

...can buy alotta towels and shirts for $250!

Hope this thread helped anyone else who might have been interested in these seat covers.
