Hey guys, Ive searched through the forum but can't really find any info about custom exhausts, so I decided to post it here. Would a 2.25inch exhaust be too small for the K24 or would it be fine?? Because most aftermarket exhausts exhibit a 2.5inch setup. I don't want such a drony tone hence thats y im aiming for a smaller pipe setup. Wont be running anything serious at all in the near future, possibly only I/H/E. Thanks!

Jack all difference. Just run a bigger centre muffler and a decent rear one too.

thx for the quick reply, but if I run a big centre muffler, and it goes back to the 2.25 piping it doesnt really help with the flow, just soundwise am i right?? I was planning to just run one hotdog in the centre and have two straight through oval mufflers. Would that be wayy too loud?

the size of the exhaust wont change the drony-ness. itll just change the pitch of the drone.

To reduce it, you need to install hotdog, also called a resonator in the exhaust.

I'm in the same situation - getting a 2.5" or 2.25" custom catback... and stuck on choice. Aftermarket uses 60mm exhausts.. maybe i'll try ask for that

60mm is inbetween 2.25 and 2.5

for k24 i think its optium to go 3' where you'd get maximum airflow.
if you want less drone or less noisy just get a more restrictive muffler and some resonators.

2.25 will be too small for a K24 id go atleast 2.5 or 3.0.

I got 2.5 on my civic and its fine.

If you ring up places saying you want 3.0 on your integra theyll say its too big and your car wont move etc etc but they have no clue what theyre on about

Hotdogs do shit, I dont care what people say. Get your self a decent sized resonator (6 inch in diameter IMO) which will take out some bark, if thats what you are worried about, then the cannons may sound alright. If you are also running single outlet, get a good sized muffler too.

60mm minimum. 3" better IMO. Deal with the drone or stick to OEM.

3inch for a NA car isnt overkill?? im going to get oval style mufflers because cannons are a bit too loud for my liking. I think i shall stick to 2.5 with a resonator in the middle. but by resonator is it the oval shaped muffler looking thing?? or just the hot dog??

3" is spot on for a k24. They've got massive exhaust flow.

Sent from my custard cannon like Peter North.

Even the K20A loves a good 3"

Pete North? Ur showing your age. Pete was popular back in the 80s/90s.

3 inch is good, it's a 2400cc, needs a bigger exhaust.
