Where is the engine coolant temp (ECT) sensor located on AP1 ???

Hi Trying to resolve engine light staying on. Pulled codes from ecu, thanks to thread from Bennjamin & retrieved error (6 flashes) which points to possible ECT sensor fault, but i cant find where it lives.

The shop manual seems to show it in the back of the inlet manifold but i cant find it anywhere on the manifold, even checked underneath with mirror & torch. Also looked at obvious areas around the head but still cant find the little sucker. Any help would be appreciated.

Yup, rear of intake manifold. Bugger getting the rubber boot off, then the connector. After that, it screws off easily. 17mm spanner IIRC.
