38 mate, i don't think 45s would clear or if they do it will be very very minimal.
also with 17" your car is gonna look like a 4WD and if you lower it it's going to rub alot.

Yes 17" rub alot, had 17" on while I re did my current wheels in white and it was rubbing like crazy, I'm lowered on Tien stech

you're prob gonna have troubles with the turning circle too, full lock is going to kill your car.
imo for the jazz looks = 16s"
performance = 15s"

mostly daily. offset is 38-40 aprox..
Front: 205/55/15

theyh look good as is, i dont think bronze will go well, u can try spokes black with a white edge on the rim.
sdx91
04-05-2011, 12:49 PM
hmm okay ill think about it. just worried that its too fat for the jazz? would i have to roll guards?
cos im gona lower them on eibach springs too.. switch to coilovers later

Sell the slicks and get smaller profile tyres and it will fit fine... assuming the spokes can clear the calipers. I had a hard time finding wheels to clear the metal bracket that sticks out of the caliper.
sdx91
04-05-2011, 09:49 PM
alright thanks ill see how it goes. im having second thoughts now about these
http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$%28KGrHqIOKokE1zw%21hRvjBNu+K5gK4Q%7E%7E_12.JPG
16s for around the same price with new tyres too.. which would u pick?
GU357
04-05-2011, 10:19 PM
the firsts look sexier, huge gapes between the spokes can look ugly at some angles cos ppl can see that ur brakes dont fill the space and the crappy drumms at the back
sdx91
04-05-2011, 10:25 PM
alright thanks much appreciated.
GU357
04-05-2011, 10:37 PM
yeh ive seen ppl that throw those wheels on and u can see straight through the back and makes it look very unsporty because of the lack of a rotor and calipers

tip is to get black rims so it hides the drumms (just don't paint them) :) also they look like work emotion knock offs with multistud, doesn't look clean enough for me, with that tyre profile im assuming would be something around the region of 205/35/16 there will be lots of unfilled space in your guards.

Drums arent really that noticable. I didnt even realize the Jazz had drums till after i bought it lol
205/35/16 doesnt exist or rare as far as i know. I wouldnt go any higher than 205/40 if you plan to lower it and stuff.

indeed 205/35/16s are rare, commodore spec imo. i'm running 205/40/16 but i'm not happy with it, i think 205/45/16 fills the guards the best.

I have 205/45/16's and it scrubs hard on 38+ offset. It was eating the tyres sidewall so i rolled the guards and raised the car to a 2 finger gap. Readjusting it again tomorrow.

does the offset affect scrubbing? or is it mostly radius and width?

offset is how far the hub is away from the centre of the car.
http://www.gtsparkplugs.com/images/WheelOffset5.gif
so if theres too much positive it can interfere with suspension as it pokes into the car, not enough and it could poke out the side too much.
but the wheel diameter shouldn't change much if u put on new rims because then it means u should get new tires that would make the cars overall wheel size the same, otherwise it affects the speedo.
mainly make sure the car isnt too low cos if it is then too little offset can cause them to poke into the mudguard or something.
hopefully someone else can help me out here im abit new to this too.
but mainly its car height

how it affects the speedo depends on the wheel size and tyre size. it can be calculated via.
http://www.carmodder.com/view_doc.php?doc_id=10&model_id=23#4
legally you can go up 2 sizes from stock, and 2 inch in width, as the cops look at the sticker inside your car.
also if anyone is after some 16x7 buddyclub p1 sfs with red stripe, +42 perfect fit for the jazz, give me a pm :)

Yes offset will determine how much closer or further it will sit from the guards. Height, rolling diameter and width play a part too.
