is it ok to run coilovers at the front, and say stock suspension at the back? or maybe stock shocks with lowering springs?
also, the rear coilovers are about 5-7inches shorter than the original oem stock shocks, is that alright/normal? to adjust the hieght of the coilovers, do i move the perch at the bottom of the coilover, then twist the bottom half of the coilover to raise it? or do i move the perches that hold the springs up and move it down?

Of course its fine to just run coilovers in the front. its just a style of suspension, its not like youre changing the layout of the car.
Yes its normal for coilovers to be shorter than stock shocks, thats why people put them in to get low.
and adjusting the height of the coilovers will depend on what sort they are, and what sort of adjustment they have.
on a coilover like this, you do what you said

move the lower perch, then twist the botom half of the coilover body.
if theyre like this

Then you need to use the spring perches. however, this isnt the best way to do it, becuase it changes the spring preload

yeah thanks i got the ones like the first pic, i can't twist it tho, its proving very difficult to do. i guess nothing else to do but keep trying, (doesn't twist either way, left or right).

well, the perch above it is suppose be tight, so it locks it. so undo that, then spray some wd40 or similar onto the thread top and bottom. let it penetrate its way down through the thread.
You may need to put it in a vice so you can get some real leverage on it

Watch this video.. spells it out nicely (assuming you have dual perch suspension which it sounds like you do)
