Hi guys about 3 months ago i purchased h11 WHITE 4500K globes for my fogies to match the hid's on the car. after about two months one of the two just blew. I took it back to the store after 30 minutes of arguing they offered to exchange it. ( they claimed i touched the tip of the glass or the glass which voids warranty)
with the new pair i made very sure that i did not touch the glass areas at all but after about a month, one of them blew again. is it possible that water maybe getting through to the terminals causing this? what else could it be? cheers?

Are they definately the correct globe for the fog lights? Also if you buy a cheap brand then they probably won't last that long.

Get Phillips. They are expensive ($70 each I think) but they will last.

If I am the store owner, I will ask you to bugger off... since when bulbs carry warranty

what do you mean ask me to bugger off? its the second pair thats blown on me. its getting really annoying. n don't get me started on their parkers. generic ebay brands are outlasting the legit brands in parkers.. its ridiculous

Philips car bulbs I believe has a 12mth warranty and it's normal for most halogen lights to have a 30 day warranty.

Generic eBay brands are probably out of the same factory as your expansive Phillips and stuff, it's called contract manufacturing.
And those LED's are pretty good, low energy intensive and probably stronger.

Just noticed both my foggies aren't working, anyone got an ebay link for some cheapies?

Just search for accor euro on eBay, heaps and heapsno them, go for them LEDs
I think that the bulbs are overheating since they are in a tight space compared to the 'airy' headlight spaces. Heat is the enemy.

Even more reason to get LEDs, they emit much less heat

the leds seem like a smart idea. and today i just thought i'd recheck and my foggies started working again? well the one that i assumed was blown. im starting to think water gets in there from high pressure carwash?
^^ It doesn't rain where you live? How did the normal globes cope with rain but not a carwash? Where I live it rains like a high-pressure car wash. Maybe it doesn't rain so hard where you live. Maybe the LEDs might help.

well with the high pressure i get somehwat under the foggies a little wheres normal rain is more straight on? if that makes sense. and rarely does it rain very heavily here but when its heavy you can't drive let alone speed enough for water to get through.

I've never had a problem with my fog lights. Besides according to the road rules, fog lights should only be used in adversed weather.
Try some mtec ones... As I said it hasn't been any trouble for me.
Also the euro does have a tendency to fluctuate the voltage, ie voltage spikes ect and this can put strain on the bulbs.

The warranty usually is for manufacturer defect and not due to blown after few months of usage.

I experience funny semi blown bulbs before with the cabin bulb with some other car. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, drive me nuts thinking must be some thing wrong with the wiring or fuse or bulb or bad connectivity. Sometimes giving it a tap and it works, sometimes it doesnt.

.......
this is absolutely correct and technically the popo can book the driver for using foggies in clear weather.
however, not many drivers are aware of this, some even drive at night with only foggies on and headlights off... this may look cool to some... but man, my old CL9 and current CU2 foggies hardly illuminate more than 5 meter ahead... this is kind of useless when you're doing 60 - 100 kph.
last year when i drove to Melb, left sydney at midnight, it rained the whole night, i found turning on or off the foggies did not make any difference on the highway.
foggies are meant to be used in thick fog while driving <40kph carefully..
in the past i had no name brand blue tinted bulb replacements for my foggies and somehow one of the bulbs lens exploded and created a mess inside the fog housing. had to take the whole fog lamp off and use vacuum and other things to clean all the mess. so, be careful with what bulb you choose :)

A lot of these foogies are no longer acctual foogies but more like cosmestics foggies, and some are to complement the cooler white light as the cooler light cant go thru fog. putting blue bulb or led defeat the purpose of a foggies... but for cosmestic sake, oh well.... :D

You should be able to adjust the fog light alignment using a long Philips head screwdriver through one of the holes in the bumper. Every car I've had with foggies have had them aligned far too low, which really aren't much use even in fog when you only see a meter or so of road ahead of you. I've adjusted mine up slightly so that they cover around 2-3 car lengths, so that you get some useful illumination out of them in fog/rain. The cutoff is still way below the headlights so glare shouldn't be an issue for other drivers.
I have MTEC "Golden style" yellow ones in mine - no problems since I got them in February. Then again, I only run them in heavy rain, so they don't get much use. I find that the yellow light does help with vision in poor weather, especially since the cooler colour of the stock HIDs isn't much good in rain.

Unfortunately, the ECE stamp on the foglight lenses state otherwise! :p
