Just wanted to ask what are some affordable mods that are WORTH doing to a DC2 ITR ?
The ITR l bought already has a full cold air intake system and upgraded headers....what else is worth doing to it to give it abit of extra power that doesn't cost a fortune?

Thanks!

'what is you aim with the car?

drag, track, street or you just want a nice power figure? different applications have ideal areas for where the power is and its not always at the peak.

for $1500 id do this

injen intake for nice noise
lightweight flywheel + HD clutch combo

Done. The car will sound nice have nice pickup and be firm for under $1500. Sure - there wont be any more actual power but there will be more useable power !

Weight reduction doesnt cost a cent, and can make quite a difference if done right. I know it can be a bit of an effort, but removing sound deadening, rear seats and plastics if not being used, lighter rims, etc. Cars with low displacement and fairly low torque like the DC2 will respond well to weight saving. You can also pick up a Hondata and have it tuned for 1500 ish if im not wrong??? (Looks at b-series gurus)

i would change the original cat to a high flow one biggest restriction on audm dc2rs and mugen twin loop for nice quiet cruising sound
around 1k there
rest i would change all fluids in your car

lightweight flywheel + HD clutch combo

Agreed.
Whatever power you have available will be there, to be used, faster.

Id say go for some sticky tyres. Re001 are good if u do a lot of miles, otherwise if its not driven much go for federal rsr. Tyres will improve your acceleration, braking and cornering, not just straight line performance from more hp. If u have any change left over make sure u are running good quallity oil and ur spark plugs are clean

You've already got some nice usable power there. As mentioned by vtecing, get yourself some RE001 and maybe a nice Alpine head unit for better music and you should be good.

If you have tyres sorted then I'd just do the CAI and full exhaust (header, cat and cat-back).

Otherwise HD clutch + lightweight fly as per ben's instructions :)

custom repsray candy pink. lol jks

you said you got CAI and headers already and you want more KW.

my suggestion hi flow cat and a decent jdm catback (mugen, spoon,js racing) you'll see good power made from these changes.

and if you can find those cheap maybe look at getting a new ecu :)

TODA AU sells it for 460AU, beat that :P.

I have the sports organic, no problems from it, but honestly I reccomend ORC + lighten flywheel. Grips hard and lasts very long from track/street use. + sounds different on idle

I'd get a high flow cat and either a Fujitsubo RM01A or Mugen twinloop catback to fully utilize your upgraded header

Is it worth purchasing a hi flow cat for a AUDM dc2r that has a cold air intake but standard headers and exhaust?

The best mods are the ones without getting a defect sticker from the cops. REcently my mate's DC5R got a slap for a simple intake and exhaust and suspension mods. easy target.

Just bought Exedy Lightweight flywheel + Exedy Sports Organic Clutch + NGK Leads and NGK IX Iridium Plugs from Swerve Motorsports on Ebay for $620 All up. Just from here they sell the sports organic clutch and flywheel for 900 and thats a deal lmaoo.. I also just purchased an exedy clutch master cylinder and slave for $80 shipped my advice man source your parts up on ebay theres nothing you wont find so far shipping has been amazing especially with UPS got my items in a week.. Once you save a little more put a catback on and maybe a hondata aswell dont forget its not always about power but how your car uses it .. also when it comes to racing another dc2r its who ever gets in vtec first regardless of the mods to an extent lol most of the time anyway if you need a catback i might have one for you under 400 aswell pm me if your interested.
