my vtec isnt has a flat spot first and second gear between 4000 to 6000 then in third gear its engae heaps louder and pulls twice as hard as the first to gears any help would be great

Check ur muffler bearing

well how much oil should i put in i put a new oil filter on and and a new sump so the engine had no oil in it

It sounded like you were low on oil to the tune of 2.7 litres, in which case you wouldnt have oil pressure and hence shitty vtec.

2nd on the muffler bearing.

Did you or did not not have oil in it? Your contradicting yourself. If you don't have adequate pressure you vtec will not changeover, also you could be doing damage to your whole engine. You said your vtec is working somtimes. Be more clear with your facts.

im not contradicting myself its has oil in the car now about 2.7litres the vtec sometimes comes on late and in first and second gear it has a flatspot from about 4000 to 6ish i changed the sump i did put oil back in and in first and second the power when its crosses over is half what it is in third gear

Just so where clear, The dip stick reads full yeah? Assuming you know this already.

Use the dipstick, check the level as you should do anytime you change oil. 2.7 litres is not enough. Make sure the oil level is between the 2 dots on the stick or on the top dot.

Was your oil light comming on as well with your 2.7 litres?

redrain your oil, put in 3.5 - 3.7L. You'd be safe.

But seriously, as previously stated, 3.6 liters or so, did u even look at the service manual? It has everything u need to know to looking after the car...... If u read the manual, i guess we wouldnt be here hahahaa

There just screwing with you buddy...2.7 is way to low if u dnt no how to check a dipstick id leave the servicin to a pro..4l give or take n check..if still has the same problem check the grade of the oil if that doesnt work make sure ur vtec solnoid is correctly working N so on If u need help pm me
