LS Integra VIN number - one of the first in OZ?

Hi guys I have a 89 DA9 LS wich has been in the familly for the past 12yrs, My older brother was the first one to own the car and bought it from a guy who said that Honda Imported the car Into the country then fitted it with 15" Borbets, Sports exhaust, Lowered suspesion and Steering wheel to use it for show room use and for motor shows and promotional stuff and he had bought it from them, my brother purchased the car back in 93 and it allready had extractors, K&N filter and a Jackson racing rear sway bar, after a few years he sold it to one of my other bro's back in 96 and now I'm the proud owner of this piece of DA9 history and have had the car for the past two yrs and a half, When I first got the car the engine was blowing out smoke and had hardly no brakes! I bought a JDM B18B from a DC2 GLi and have prety much replaced or renewed most of the bit and pieces on this car! lots of people tell me it's the cleanest LS they have come across!!! but but I have allways thoght about it's history and wondered if mine is the first ever in Australia? this is when my question comes imto play..........

If this car seems to be one or the first DA9/s in Australia, how could I find this out???? the VIN Number says: JHMDA93500S000048, I have been told by one of the other members that the last five numbers are the serial number? so if mine is #00048 is that the number for the ones Ever built??? or for the ones bought into Australia????? the build plate says: APRL 89 DA9 (the plate that is attached to the passangers side on the Radiator support)

Any info will be highly appreciated!

i reckon the 47 previous DA9's have all been through a wrecker by now!

Some times I go to get some parts for it and the dudes tell me that its an Import! only when they have problems with finding parts for it! and then they tell me to pop the bonnet so they can check out the VIN plate and they say "see it's an Import" 00048 "it would have had to be Imported plus it was made in April 89 they didn't come out here till late 89 early 90" must be heh????

my DA9 is number 166 and was built in April 89 if thats any help to you...

I am the 3rd owner of my car, some guy owned it for like 3 months and then sold it to the lady i bought it off last year. It is by far the best conditioned 89 model i have seen

thats pretty cool..

look at your gear box and engine serial number, they should be pretty low as well.

I dont think your car was the 1st in australia, however it could of been the 1st one in your state, or on the 2nd batch or cars sent to AU. 48 means your car was the 48th one to roll off the production line. pretty cool though

I remember seeing a CRX that had a VIN #one nuber above my CRX, his GearBox was 1 # less than mine :)

my GENONE crx is the 29th CRX ever made... AF1000029 is the chassis number and EW5000052 is my engine number :)

very special in my opinion as I have never heard anyone show a 1983 even close to my numbers anywhere I have visited. in the US they didn't get the CRX till 1986 so unless someone drives a RHS its pretty impossible it be in US, so leaves only UK, Japan, New Zealand and OZ... but i doubt there be one around....

HONDA in Japan I guess has the #1 in their museum.

this is an awesome thread... i just couldnt resist goin outside and checkin my VIN out, lol, i know mines built in MAR 90', but i was still happy to know a little bit more history bout my teg , it says #002612

BTW can you explain this??? you said your car is #46 and made in April 89 but in you car specs you have "90 LS" Hummm?????? :confused:

Honda will make a whole batch of cars, say in Nov 89, they will badge them as buld date 11/89, but on the compliance plate they can be 02/90, this is the date it enters Australia and the compliance plate is fixed to the car. you will see this alot in the slower moving cars like CRX, Ledgends, NSX.

nah i haven't met u...but i seen ur car around quite a bit...my car is completely stock! i just got it recently from a guy in springvale and yeah its my first car. i just have to say..luvin' ur rimz bro. and yeah i call it 90' LS because when i tell people i drive 89' integra they assume its the gen1 so i just tell them its a 90'! =X
