I'm wanting to get another key cut for my Integra DC5R. I want to know If I need one of those chipped keys, or can I just get a key cut without a chip?

My car has been fitted with an aftermarket alarm / immobilizer system and as far as I know, the immobilizer is disabled once I unlock the car.

Would I be able to start my car with just a standard key without a chip? Or is the whole chip security in the ECU?

no you wouldnt....
you do need the chipped key to start your car...
you can get one cut to open doors and such but it will not start the car...
you need the chip to allow you to start the car with it..

So I'm assuming the chip start security system has something to do with the ecu? As the original immobilizer was removed.

only way to remove the original immobiliser is to use a KPRO
