Hey guys,
I’ve been thinking about purchasing an Integra Type S and I’m sure that a number of others on the board are too (or have already done so).

There haven’t really been many threads that discuss the Type S on this forum … and those that do exist have generally moved off topic quite quickly.

Can I suggest for the benefit of enthusiasts on the forum we get together:

a general idea of what people think of the Type S (ie personal opinions);
impressions by people that have test driven the Type S; and
any comparisons of the Type S with the Type R (ADM DC5 or DC2) by anyone that has driven both.

I’ll start by adding the specs of the Type S – apologies if any of it is wrong (let me know and I’ll correct it).
It would be nice if someone could add the specs of the ADM Type R and JDM Type R just for comparisons sake (unfortunately I don’t have these).

Please try to stay on topic and please don’t flame people for their personal opinions (whether right or wrong).
We can all make our own judgements on comments people make (and those people if necessary :D ).

Hope we can get something going here

Mike

apparently not as quick as the dc5r. heavier and no LSD! thats what some of the clubrsx members claim, and rightly so, it makes sense, you get an extra 7 kw, but more weight. softer suspension as well

still a great car though, just depends on what your after

did about 400k in the ITS
its an awesome car, my gf isn't too fused about the performance. its her first manual car and shes doing all her learning on it. she reckons its a pretty easy car for day to day drive

I think its a very good vehicle. I have a 9/2003 DC5 ITR. I've done 21,000klm since picking it up back from new. I've done a few great mods, sussy, intake, zorst ect......its currently 175Kw.

The S is a smoother vehicle, but would be nicer to drive on a day to day basis I think. But if you mod it the same as the current one, you'll get the same results.

You miss out on the LSD, which can be a big issue.....

dc5r and dc5s... depends on what you want out of your car. if you want a boy racer sporty car to fang on the track now and then, have a bit of a gun through the mountains, then go the R. if you're after a more elegant cruiser for day to day which has similar handling and power, go the S.

when the S first came out, well when i heard it was coming out, i was worried that my R would look dated but they are two different cars. one has recaros, full body kit, better handling. other has leather, bigger rims.

like stu said, if u're plannnig to modify, the result will be the same. but personally if you're going to modify, go a dc5r cause aftermarket seats are expensive.

be it an audm dc5r or audm dc5s, the suspension has to go. However, the dc5r would have an edge with the lsd and stiffer suspension on the track. But for daily driving, I guess the dc5s would be a much better choice as it provides more comfort. Its all up to you dude.:D
