hey guys,
last thursday i went to ferntree gully honda in victoria and made a crazy ass deal for a brand new 2011 manual black civic sport for my wife...

i pick it up tomorrow and im pretty excited.............lol

any tips or things i should keep my eyes and ears on???

im looking at doing some very basic mods for the wife as she enjoys a modified car just as much as i do...lol

im looking at tein super street coilovers, a nice and neat intake, and a highflow cat with cat back, not sure if i will be doing headers yet, and possibly a flash pro tune...

thanks for reading, and any advice/comments welcome

grats on the purchase. dont expect many gains from modding the fd2 sport engine though. basic mods people do are mainly cosmetic ie. kits/lip kits, suspension and wheels... unless u have the money for a head swap, full engine swap or forced induction, the car will be just a street cruiser.
however, looking at ur past builds, im sure ur capable of turning the car into a beast. good luck with it!

Lol.....

Im in 2 minds......
Coilovers or lowered springs....
Keep in mind this car will be around for wen the family gets bigger (kids)...
I was thinking tein s/s or bc racing...but i realize that the rear is almost like a commodore style shock n spring setup..

Im thinking a set of pedders springs which will lower the car about 1.5inches....

Any thoughts/experience???

hhmmm, not a wide range of options for exhaust :L,
someone here has a j's racing 60rs catback, modded to fit our fd2,
then theres custom or axeback.

Btw I have a magnaflow catback on mine and looking to do a custom one next keeping the magnaflow resonator and utilising a greddy tic muffler. Down the line I may get a set of 4-2-1 headers with HFC (either vibrant or ebay special CNT) and do 2.25-2.5" between

Wat makes u say this???
Usually K series loves 3"....
But since its driven by my wife...i decided smaller might b a little more reasonable...
And its not a varex

Gut feeling, considering it's not a high output engine like the k20z4 or z3..

I even went 2.25 on my h22, although now i'm thinking that's a bit small :S

thanks for ur concern, ideas,
i have some ideas for this modest daily driver, im also looking at a good intake system and re-tune with hondata flash-pro...
but i might also get some headers when funds are available and something decent in price and performance comes on the market...

yeah i was reading on another forum that 3.0" is fine for a K series and like you said since its your wifes car and a daily 2.5" is fine.
iv got 2.5" on my B16 ATM and its running fine just lost a little low end power but meh.

also 2.25" for a H22 isnt that a little too small?

Yep 100% incompatible. I checked my ECU code against the hondata website and it's not listed as compatible. My ecu code is:

37820-RRF-Q02
3862-100719

However if yours being a newer model has a different ecu and it works I'd love to go from Emanage to flashpro!
