Today i spent a good amount of time trying to work out this common leak.
Due to the bad weather in Melbourne this was a must fix problem for my DC2 Integra.
I believe Ive found an alternative way to fixing the problem rather than replacing the gaskets....
When your remove your rear tail lights you'll notice three main holes which the globes sit through once the interior piece is removed.
The 2 outer holes have a flanged edge which points in a direction outwards of the cars body. These edges press against the gasket creating a good seal once the lights are tightened back to the body.
Now.... my discovery which i believe has been a major cause due to examining the cars taillight gaskets leak.
The middle holes edges face inwards which means the gasket is not pressed against an edge creating a seal but sits loose on this hole... using silicon i have sealed the gasket to that hole which i'm going to test tommorow and see how it goes.
a good way to tell if this is a problem which could simply be solved (if it works) is by checking your tail light gasket...
Have a close look and see where the water flows down through the gasket. For me it was this centre hole and i think it could be the same for many others...
Ill be posting the result up soon!
Thanks :D
