Hey guys i was wondering if anyone else with a em1 has the same problem. I have a 1999 Honda Civic Vti-R em1 but on the RTA registration papers under SHAPE mines says SEDAN (instead of coupe) and under VARIANT mine says VTIM (instead of VtiR). I just wanted to see if this is the same for anyone else or if it may be an error in my car records.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi mate. Not sure about RTA but in Victoria, there are no "Coupe" models. Mine is registered as a sedan as well. I don't think my rego says anthing about the model though. It just says Honda Civic.

on my rego papers my civic type r hatchback says its a sedan worried and curious i went to rta and ask
and they said its cause they have no option to select for hatchbacks so they select sedan not too sure if its same as coupe though

Yo marcus. No need to worry about it. Thats just how the rta puts vehicles. Like how theres different models of commodores or falcons.. Eg commodore calais. Its the same vehicle, just different options. So yeah nothing to worry about!

Remember, i work for the rta lol!

Seen a lot of eg civics as sedan on vicroads. Not only eg civics I've seen a lot of cars which don't match the shape written on the rego. Shouldn't be a problem imo, as the same thing applies to other cars in other states as well

I'm in NSW and all three DAs I've owned had "SED" on the rego paper.

Insurance company didn't buy it :D

Thanks for the responses guys, from what i gather there's nothing to worry about as other other people also have this same mistake on their rego papers.

I just did insurance price comparisons on the NRMA website between 1999 Vti-R coupe, 1999 Vti Sedan and 1999 hatchback and suprisingly insuring it as a Vti-R coupe is $50 CHEAPER then the 1999 Vti sedan and hatchback.
