hey guys I have noticed crunching on my dc2r at 5000rpm or higher shifting from 2nd to 3rd (crunch) and 4th (crunch) gear,
Even after changing the gearbox to motul oil it seem the problem haven't been slove, maybe the 3rd and 4th gear syncros might have been done for. what do you guys think is the problem.
cheers

Synchros for sure.
Look at 'Redline' gearbox oil, which might extend the life of the GBox for a few thousand more KMs. Otherwise it's an expensive job, gearbox off, synchros replaced, internals cleaned + re-installed.

Either that or incorrect fluids.. too thin and gears will heat up and get loud.. too thick and gears will not work too smooth

But given that it's the signature 'crunch' sound and OP states it happens at or above 5,000RPM I would say synchros.
@OP: What happens if you change gears at 3000RPM? Smoother?

Oh yeah forgot about that like dougie said synchros. Or Try changing your tranny fluid to GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. That will help

to give a figure, a refurbished gearbox for b-series might be in the 1.5 - 2k or more, its the labor that kills it, not the parts.

shit i might as well drive it like that till the gearbox broken and then get a new one insted since i rekne it's cheaper then rebuilding.....

You can't get a 'new one' however you can go buy another one which is probably just as rooted or close to it. You can't tell unless you take out the internals and inspect it.
You have a DC2R which has a great box. If I were you I'd take the GBox off myself (that part isn't too hard) and take it to a shop to be reco'd. Put it back on yourself. Otherwise just pay for it - you won't get a better box than your reco'd one and to mess around crossing your fingers for luck is plain silly.
DC2R GBox are still $1200-1500. Ignore the bullsh!tters who tell you they found one for $600 - it's a nugget.
