just got a letter from honda today

it says
dear valued customer
honda motor co ltd has dtermined a dfect relating to vehicle sfety exists with the power steering feed hose in your vehicle
prolonged high under bonnet temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely and may cuase the hose to crack and leak power steering fluid power steering fluid leaking onto a hot exhaust may generate smoke and a burning smell and could potentially result in an under bonnet fire

whoever has 04 model please check your mail box or do double check with honda

The power steering hose in question failed on my 03 Euro on Monday and spilled fluid all over the exhaust manifold cover causing smoke to spew out of the bonnet. Was about to take it to Hannys to get it fixed but thankfully checked the mail before i left and saw i got the recall notice today.

Got mine done today. Hose replaced so they say and noticed another piece of rubber tubing wrapped around the new hose. Not only that, apparently the dealer replace several clips on the headlights due to water build up. It wasn't mentioned on the letter i received. I remembered when the car was still under warranty, I got one of the headlights replaced and now they replaced the clips. The guy mentioned its another campaign they got honda to get this replaced.
Sidetrack a bit, while at the dealers, got them to install both front actuators which i got from ebay. Tried to install myself with no luck so paid $220 for both doors. Works brilliant now.

by any chance did your car have to be lifted or go up on a hoist for the whole duration of the power steering hose replacement?
