Hi Everyone! I'm new to the forum (duh). My name is Katie and I own a 93 civic hatch Si. A friend of mine told me that I should join, so here I am! :)

hahaha thanks..For engine parts..I'm not really sure. I've got a d15b in there right now since my d16z6 blew up. I don't plan on swapping it out because I commute, so I love the 40mpg :) I might jazz it up a little bit with some different stuff..but that won't be for awhile.

haha you have no idea! Everyone here whines about the gas prices cause gas use to be really cheap per gallon. I remember when it use to be $0.99 for a gallon. Then it went up to $2.70 and then up to $4.86 (diesel) (yes, I had a truck at one point..it sucked) and now it's $3.71 for gas. Last week it use to be $3.95

I have a picture of it before I put it on and then with it on..yes, it allows the air to not get trapped there. Supposed to help with gas mileage. It came on our VX hatch which AC was an option and it was the lightest hatch..basically the gas saving hatch.

Yeah, it got stolen November 2008, then it got stolen again December 2008 and that's when the carbon fiber hood was on (for a week). Then my friends hatch got stolen in February 2009 and my coupe got stolen February 2009 right after my friends. Didn't get my coupe back but the hatch keeps making it back :)

Well when it got stolen the first two times we lived at this one crappy apartment..ok it wasn't super crappy but crappy enough for the car to get stolen. My car got stolen from there as well and then our friends hatch got stolen from his driveway. We live in another complex now and have for about a year and half and the cars haven't been messed with. I think it's cause there are nicer cars here. 1-2 s2000's, a few four doors, a hatch, there use to be a mugen fit and an EF wagon. I'm hoping in a year or so we can move into a house.

You could just give the corner near the headlight a bit of a tap and it would look loads better in my opinion.

yeah..they said if they work on it and can't find the parts through Honda that the car would be a total loss and if we worked on it and wanted to keep it, they would just pay us out. So that's what we did because one, I don't want some random shop working on my car and two, I can find the parts cheaper.

Somewhat. One of my friends said I'm getting ripped off. The door and hood are $110 for both and the bumpers are $130 for both (brand new). The only thing I hate is that the bumpers are not oem and I'm miss picky and can't stand anything non-oem being on the car. But I figure they'll do for now and when I find OEM bumpers I'll get them and the bf can have the non-oem one for his car.

and I totally agree Nikon>>olympus...I like Nikon and Canon. I don't own my own camera yet, so I have to borrow the bf's step mom's camera (canon). Eventually I'll have my own.

Ain't nothing wrong with Olympus. Or most any of the brands really. Here's some from my Olympus which I love (and I wouldn't even call myself amateur status yet, not good enough for that).
I bought two cameras at the same time which compete for the same price point.
One Olympus and one Nikon. The Olympus is completely put to shame by the Nikon and my mums 99 dollar Nikon takes better pictures, in my opinion, than my Olympus.
But that's just my experience and why I dislike Olympus.

Today is going to be AWESOME! I'm picking up my nose mask soon =] and my friend is coming by to let me borrow his nikon so I can determine which I like better. I use to use Nikon's all the time when I was working for a photographer, but it's been awhile. Need to refresh.

hey dumptdaily, the only problem with your door is red always shows up under green, so if you get it painted, and get one small scratch it will be noticble, i had the same problem when i painted red panels white, when they where scratched, or chipped, they'd show bright red.

There's no problem because my door is going to be striped down and I'm sanding all the red off and then painting it. So if it does get scratched or chipped, it won't be red.

well if you plan on sanding it down, you will be there forever. "take it from a painters profession" if you sand blast it, then niki, undercoat, then paint and clear. your all good. anyway if you need any help... we are all here 2 help.

Yeah, I've got quite a bit of work to do. Right now we are taking a break from mine and working on the twin right now. My bf's installing his brakes today on his and then getting a battery. Next step is inspection, registration and insurance. Then it'll be back to my car. I'm going to purchase my master cylinder, AC belt, and dryer receiver soon. Thanks

Haha, no engine mods as of right now. I've got a non-stock air intake but that's it. I don't plan on doing anything motor wise because she's my daily and I'm loving my 42mpg right now. Plus if I want power, I can just drive her twin. lol.

yeah I have hook ups so I can usually get what I want for pretty cheap or with a discount. My best friend works at a parts store so I end up getting everything really cheap through her discount and then I have two friends that own parts stores that are for aftermarket/jdm parts for my car. =] The only thing I'm super interested in right now, I'm still waiting on the guy to give me the shipping cost =\

Wow, been awhile since I've been on here. lol. Haven't done anything new to the car. Just been driving it. When I get paid I'm probably going to get my master cylinder and my ac stuff so I can put ac back in the car..it freakin sucks driving around and having to sit in an hours worth of traffic in 102+ degree weather without ac. I almost died yesterday. ugh. Anyway, going to a meet tomorrow morning, haven't decided whether I'm taking my hatch or the bf's ..but I do plan on taking a crap load of pictures and I plan on sharing them with you guys :)

Wow! It's been forever since I've been on here..Sorry guys! Just been reading through your intro thread (first time for everything) and so glad you're not letting all the setbacks you've had put you off. Shiela's are a rare breed when it comes to cars (shiela= Aussie slang for girl, and an example of the regrettably dying Aussie lingo= language). I like your wit and humour too, has caught a few off guard I would say.

Looking at the colour (color) of your car It's either Tahitian Green or Aztec Green. Here's a thread from Honda-tech which might help when repainting (or it might confuse 'cause I can't tell the diff from the pics supplied)http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2781342

Nice one..yeah my paint is Aztec green. And as for being dumpt and daily..Not yet really cause I just put my new suspension on last fall and my exhaust hanger is broken (haven't fixed yet) so can't be dumpt right now cause I'd already ruined my exhaust lol. Not sure I'll actually ever be dumptdaily since my bf wants to start racing my car. Long story short, I got rear ended in his hatch and now it is totaled. I was okay, just sucks that the car is damaged. We got money back for it and are slowly parting it out. Which means I'll be getting a new motor...either Type R or B20. Not sure yet. Right now I haven't done much to my car. I still need to put a new door on but since my bf's car is totaled, I'm just going to put his doors on mine. Then I need to get new exhaust piping. Still need to put my new master cylinder on and replace my brakes. Also need to swap over his subframe and steering rack from his car because we found out last month that my subframe..one of the bolts broke. Luckily it won't be able to back out on me and get me in an accident but it still isn't safe.

Anyway, I scored some del sol seats for free and washed my car yesterday..here are pictures.

aww thanks..It has been a long time since I posted!! holy crap! lol. Well sad news :-/ Hatch got stolen. I'm pretty sure my ex took it because my neighbor saw him over at my apartment when I went out with my boyfriend. But my neighbor wouldn't tell me if he took the car or not but everything was super fishy about the situation. Car was found 2 hours later near a friends work and they didn't even take much off of it. They left the suspension but took the headlights, corner lights, bumper, seats, spoiler and the adjuster knobs on my suspension. Left the radio, short hub, hids, suspension, wheels, rear diffuser. It just didn't add up ya know? So anyway, it was a big drama filled week trying to figure out what to do about the car. My ex said I needed to pay him $500 for the towing and storage fees but yet wasn't going to give me my insurance money for the car. So I finally just said screw it and let him keep the car. His mom said I screwed him over but I don't think so since he had two hatches he got to sell instead of one. So yeah, I don't drive a honda anymore. I drive my fiance's subaru :) I'd say I upgraded. I still plan on getting another honda down the road, but not till I have a garage. I'll post pictures later of what the hatch looked like when they found it.
