my bonnet wont close

my bonnet wont close unless i slam it real hard ..
any suggestions on how to fix it ? ive tried adjusting the latch up and its at its highest and still didnt fix the problem

how hard are you slamming it? the s2000 bonnet is aluminium and is pretty light. i find it requires to be dropped from about chest height to close properly.

umm probably twice the force u need to close ur door.. n now its getting pushed in to the point where the front bumper is sticking out (noticable at night)

He's already tried that... You shouldn't slam your bonnet as it can dent quite easily as I've been told. Make sure the latch is all aligned and there's no bent metal bits...?

Maybe the latch isnt closing... Try oiling it up?

Do you have a snorkel that goes into the oem air box? If so that may be your problem, just check if theres any marks on top of the snorkel where it would most likely hit onto the hood if there is then its the snorkel for sure.

yeah ill probably try oiling it up coz the hook on the bonnet has sort of rusted. ill give that a go n c let u kno cheers

Aside from the latch, there are also two round rubber cylindrical pieces that you can adjust. Twist them to adjust their height.

It's on the bonnet itself, it's a bonnet adjusting knob thing, if you unwind it enough it will come out, but it's like a rubber stud, turn it all the way it, so it doesn't "raise" the bonnet from the quarter panel.. It only closes when you push it hard because the rubber is compressed when you push it.. Bonnet should close properly at about 30cm height from the latch to the bonnet catch.
