Brake pedal goin soft ???

Hey guys ive got a 93 EG civic now when i put my foot on the brake its hard then the engine RPM jumps a little like 50RPM and then idle again and then the pedal goes soft by 2cm and it does this till the pedal is almost at the floor but if i take my foot off the pedal its like it resets lol hope that makes sense lol

Sounds like brake master cylinder issue. Could be leaking past the piston since the rubber seals do wear.

Check your fluid anyway just to make sure you're not low due to a leak somewhere else.


Though it could also be normal. I mean, when I first got a car, I found it weird that the brake seemed to go soft and slowly to the floor when I was sitting still, but there was no real issues.

it wasnt an issue till i realised that when the pedal goes soft it realises the brake a little so you start rolling again lol

master cylinder. common issue. May need to be rebuilt with new seals

Yeah man same with mine well didn't rev but brakes kinda sunk was a brake master issue .

Also check the brake booster (Vaccum assit) if it's directly related to the idel.
