i have skunk2 sport shocks with tein s-tech springs on my EG Sedan
and i have to say - im very impressed with the performance and quality for the price
compared to alot of other shocks/springs around
not hella stiff like tein SS or flex - but just hard enough to perform - they give a nice balance
they work really well with all my UR gear as well

So can i buy coilover/springs buy them selves (any brand), and any brand shocks and mix and match? As long as there all for 88-91 civic?

within reason ... lol
you have to take into consideration that both the spring and the shock will lower the car - so you have to add it together and make sure you are happy with the overall drop
you also have to consider the spring rate and how hard the shock is and if they will match
you also have to consider that some shocks are adjustable - will this be compatible with the spring??
both of the items i put on my car are designed to be OEM replacements - and they both only drop the car around an inch each
apparently the skunk2 springs and shocks are a good combo together - but i wanted something slightly less aggressive - so i got the tein s-techs
the skunk2 sport shocks were also the CHEAPEST of all replacements i could find (that wernt completely fail lol) =)

i would get the skunk2 shock and spring combination over the megans
if you are doing long trips i would opt for a softer spring - but for around town the skunk2 springs will be fine

yer ride comfort doesn't bother me at all, while growing up the ive always been in my parents hilux ute which is as stiff as a rock so im very use to it, which is why id rather have the performance gain over comfort. least to some level that is.

i thought like that as well - until i started doing 100km round trips for college each day on a country highway - i get a sore back from it lol
its fine for around town tho - like short trips or traffic =)
