I can't believe how many people are interested, I've got like 5 people after these :D Since cusco echo was first to reply I will let him check them out first, but I'll keep the rest of you posted!
I'm selling to buy a house, then when I have settled in I want to boost an MX-5
Nice headlights, I want ! Unfortunately I'm not in Brissy. Is there anyone out there who would be able write up a DIY ? Or how much would people charge to do this blackout ? (that's if they are bothered to spare some time to do it)

Buy a couple of cans of high temp spray paint from a hardware place. Take your bumper off, then you should be able to get to your lights pretty easily. Remove the lights and take off all the black rubber parts and the bulbs. Use a hair drier or pop what's left of the light in the oven at a really low temp for a minute to soften the seal, then you should be able to pry the front and back apart.
Take out the chrome part of the light by removing the screws. Mask off the side indicator area really well (and seal it from the back too so paint "mist" (or whatever you call it) doesn't get behind there. Give her three or more fine coats, just take your time and don't apply too much paint or it will run. Let it dry overnight or whatever the paint can says, then screw it all back together.
If you're careful you should be able to reseal the light by heating the seal again, otherwise you'll need to use silicone or something.
See above for "one I prepared earlier" :D
I'm not responsible if you stuff up, so don't go blaming me if my steps are wrong!
I'd allow a full day to do this to both your lights, you really don't want to rush it if you want it to turn out nice.
Cheers!
Cool thanks alot for your help dude. Unfortunately my oven don't work lol but you've suggested hair dryer, are you sure ??? I'm imagining that you're blowing on one side and the other side would be cooled....

lol update on this?
Saboteur, i think you should just charge a fee for doing the headlights since you ahve so much interest. Guys its really not that hard to do on your own!
