ok im an idiot - what engine in 'indy special'

Can you guys let me know how I can tell if my 99 civic 3d manual indy spec
is a vtec or not ..
can you tell from the vin ..
the car is not badged apart from the Indy label???

not all sohc D series valve covers say 'VTEC' on them

the 'indy special' was a cxi with yellow paint

you have a D16y4 - 1.6ltr SOHC no-vtec

next time make a cleaner title or i will give you an infraction

You could always just check the block itself. Most, if not all blocks have their engine code written on it on the lower half. Grab that, and it'll probably be of the d16 engine series.

i love D engines ... but still ... they are the bottom of the range when it comes to honda

for most people that tune a D tho - thats the point ... see how much you can pump up the under dog =)
