Hi guys

I am thinking to give a good water clean for the engine bay of my EK GLi, before I'm starting of, I want to know the exactly parts need to be covered properly. From my research, the dizzy & fuse box need to be wrapped up as none of them like water; so anything else??

Thanks guys.

Looks great mate. I use either Meguire's trim detailer or a cheap tyre shine spray for the black hoses in the bay.

I also pulled off that material on the underside of the bonnet and used a cheap spray-on 'polish' to give it some shine so you can see your mirror reflected :D

Hey, how did you protect those components from the water? I would like to do this, but im not confident that I wont kill anything haha...

If your concerned about water getting in your components spray some Inox Mx3 round your engine bay first, Concentrating on your dizzy and electrical connections. It helps stop water from getting in to electrical components and makes your hoses look new. Heres a Pic of my Ek after i used inox and degreaser, I just disconnected the battery and went nuts with the sprays and hose till i was satisfied then let it sit for 15 min or so to let the water drain then took it for a drive to dry it out completely.

I just use a plastic bag + elastic bands. Rubber gloves do the trick too for the smaller parts (EG. alarms)
