Hey EG civic owners, does your EG auto locks itself when you drive off? Or is this just my imagination that my car had auto locks after not driving it for 5 months (and driving new modern cars that has it)? And unlocks itself when you switch off the ignition?

Its called anti-hijack. Alot of after market alarms have it.

As per trism.

All Viper alarms do it, and some others. Mostly because in the USA it's more common to have your car hijacked at the lights. So the alarm locks the doors when you take off so people can't get in. Good feature IMO.

Hrmm...what about auto-unlocking when you switch the ignition off? Do alarms have this as well? I have an aftermarket alarm in mine and I think the feature's turned itself off or something. Might investigate.

Yes it unlocks the doors when you turn the engine off.

i have this in my eg. ignition on - lock. ignition off - unlock. Mine stopped working for a while then one day it just decided to start working again.
problems like this are common with aftermarket alarm systems.

could be a fuse or a relay
