Hi guys,

I'm thinking of moving on from an Evo 6 to an EP3. I used to have a built EG With a B18R before the Evo.

The Evo is quick, but I still miss my old EG B18R and was thinking maybe give the EP3 a go.. ;).

Thoughts?

Have just bought an EP3 myself. Haven't been able to drive it apart from the trip home due to a few minor things getting it past RWC, but I can tell it's gonna be awesome. There's people on here with a lot more knowledge about the car than myself, but if you want the opinion from someone who just took the plunge, then I say go for it!

thanks for the input. may I ask what sort of rides did you have before the ep3? did you guys moved from turbo'd cars?

Definitely not. Been driving an EK Civic GLi sedan that I had all through uni. Always wanted to upgrade but could never really justify it when there was nothing wrong with the other car and I drive so little anyway. The other one has taken a steep decline (due to my lack of upkeep) recently so I was sort of forced into it. Although I'll barely drive this one, at least I'll enjoy it a lot more when I do.

EP3 its quite good in stock form, and even better when they are modded properly. I used to drive EK with B18C2 before i moved to EP3.

I first had a AE82 4age corolla, then got a 180sx type X, now in the EP3.

I have had many cars which I wont bother to list. The car before the EP was a High powered GTR, bit of a change but never regretted it. Seriously not being biased, but the EP is such a well balanced car, that there is nothing out there similar for the money, specs and the maintenance (such a breeze)!

The 180 was getting a bit dated for my daily driving... I didn't want to go ahead with the turbo upgrade I had lined up. Plus I was tired of getting defected, major and minor ones. Still a great car though, with timeless styling.

Drove past 2 TMU's/Highway patrol cars and 4 officers, with their clip boards parked on the side of the road in Glenferrie this morning. They didn't even look!!! They waved the guy behind me in for an random inspection. Second time I've driven past them now and no troubles.

I'm sure it'll be a different story, once I have the regamasters on though.

boys in blue are starting to wave me in now, but for the 2years of owning it never once had been pulled over till recently. maybe its because p platers are an easy target?

i've never once had that before except for rbt. Funny enough, the most recent RBT, the officer that checked me even said "nice car" after checking that i was 100% alcohol free. =)

When you drove off, did you look in the rear view mirror to see if he gave you a wink ;)

imported an EP3 myself, just arrived not long ago- awesome little car. lightweight with a K20= awesome

ride is firm, gear changes are very crisp. only complaints is the exterior styling (not massive fan of hatches), 4 seats, and the driving position is too high for me. couple of small mods on the way to fix those.

funny- i was considering an evo 5-6 before i bought this ep3, but when i sat inside the evo it just felt too low rent for me - interior very cheap and outdated, as good a car as it is. Sat in the ep3 and fell in love- combination of performance and freshness ;)

oh and i moved from a 97 EJ8

Now that you mention it....he did look a bit like you, and he gave a glistening smile that looks just like yours....
