does it reduce the brightness of the head light at all?

revolution

I did the same thing, except I haven't blacked out the corners...

and no it doesn't affect brightness...I have actually cut the *prongs* that surround the bulb and it is alot brighter than before.....

I might give it a try.
However i'll use a gunmetal like colour spray and some sellys allclear.
haha, i thought you were joking about putting it in the oven

revolution
12-12-2003, 11:37 AM
Yea I used Shelly's allClear aswell....I put mine in the oven, but be careful if using the oven method....

but be careful if using the oven method....
yeah, if you have non-genuine headlights, they will melt

nah...i guess, there is really noreplacement to the genuine ...coz all diys has yet to create the real colour tint so far

nonetheless, it relatively cheap method:)

good find:)

no way man.
I can get you a set of genuine EK9 headlights for $400-500 delivered.
Let me know if you want the real ones and i'll speak to my contact.

eknine

they are abt USD$380 actual market rate, there abt...but seriously unless you have a 99+ with the facelift, then its worth changing provide your are a JDM whore, else the difference for the 96-98 headlight CTR vs Ek4 is only very slight tint diference, take an expert or someone who has seen a real one to know that difference:)... well if money is not an object, then the change is just a bling/JDM whore factor else, i say save the money for better mods;)

yep...I actually had second thoughts about spraying it full black...I reckon gunmetal looks better, and buying actualy JDM CTR's is a waste of money, unless u r a JDM whore as EKNINE said... :P

black over gunmetal (because there wasn't gunmetal at the shop) hahahahahahah..... anyway my contacts told me 900+ from japan, might have been a rip job... but seriously i dont think there is a huge difference with the 96-98 ones.... 99 ctr genuines are the true jdm :D
