Hey guys,

I gotta B20/b16 build that i bought a few months back and has had no vtec for a while..
been abit lazy to fix the issue although i was just curious to find out what and where i should look first as there can be a billion problems for the vtec not to enable.

And also if anyone knows where i can find a b20/16 vtec map for a Hondata S300?

not too sure how the previous owner setup my ecu but all i know is that it was half finish..

Cheers,

if you got hondata s300, you can enable vtec your self

Yeah one of my mates had a go but didn't succeed..

Because i did see the option switching secondary tables on or off and we tried putting it on

but never activated properly!

I would love to upload the type r map! but rather have a b20/b16 map uploaded..

Well if vtec isnt working usually a CEL should pop up. If so it would tell you the problem your having. What kind of engine loom is in the car? Has vtec worked with the old owner?
Has the car ever been tuned at all>?
maybe you should take it to a tuner to sort your problems out, hit up Adrian at Toda, Bel Garage, Team K Kustoms

Thanks alot for your help guys!

well hakan from performance exhaust did the build and he said the car has always been running well and vtec crossover was never too loud...
Hakan took it over to toda and adrian tuned it and got 121kw atw.

Another thing is that the previous owner turbocharged the car and probably caused other issues.

all i could see in errors were
1.Knock sensor
2.Vtec Spool
3. I forgot but ill check tonight..

Nah this is the midnight purple Eg4..

Cheers guys!

VTEC solenoid alright?

With a B16A head the B20 will still pop very loud on crossover.

You Prob need to disable the vtec spool oil sensor cause ether the sensor or wiring is faulty
The sensor isn't really needed its only a factory safeguard to prevent vtec engaging if for some reason the oil pressure is too low
It's one of the misc settings on hondata in peramiters menu

Ive already disabled the sensors that are causing the errors codes and now i have no error codes running the stock P30 B16 jdm map from the hondata s300
although it still does'nt feel right.. im thinking of putting it on the dyno to see the power curve..

any suggestions guys?

Cheers, thanks alot for the help!

you should pay someone to get it sorted for you bro, no point stuffing around if you have no idea, you going cause damage to your engine.

You got anyone in particular that knows what his doing? because part from running dyno to see power curve i know their gonna charge me by the hour and rip me off..

make up yr mind man

1) spend a few hundred, get ripped off, get everything things sorted out and fixed
2) save that few hundred, keep asking someone dont even know wt u are driving, rip the car off yrself and end up spending a few of few hundreds

it seems that it just need a proper tune if everything hardware wise is ok

Yeah tuning the car is more than the issue because i got a stock b16 map running with vtec enabled so its gotta be something else and hardware so if worse comes to worse probs just get ripped off man... doubt ill have time to have the block sitting around doing nothing hehe

thanks for the help yo!
