View Full Version : Not many AP2 S2000 in Aus?

Been browsing on carsales at some S2000, but I noticed they are all AP1. There was an AP2 last week but now its gone. So all the S2000 on carsales are now AP1. Just wondering why is there such a lack of AP2?

Did Honda not produce many in Australia?

Would love an S2000 but all the hassle in swapping everything over to looking like AP2 might as well get an AP2.

Honda never built them in Australia.

And Honda Australia didn't import the AP2. We just imported later model AP1s.

yeah.. arent they just AP1's with AP2 exterior + interior add ons. and the Vin/chasis number still says AP1?

Maybe I should import AP2 from overseas since dollar is so strong :cool:

I think you'll find the dollar would have to be a whole lot stronger to make it anywhere near worthwhile.

Not to mention the driving conversion cost....
Unless you get an AP2 straight out of Japan, in which case, the dollar AINT so strong...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure the only thing we missed out on was the F22? Did our 04+ models not get the revised rear subframe and suspension geometry of the AP2?

F22 is gay, I heard it doesn't rev to 9000 rpm.

Although... the J's racing S2000 seems to be doing with it haha.

You dont see a lot as there weren't that many sold in comparison. I think about 150 AP2s were sold as opposed to 1700 AP1s. The only difference between American and Japanese AP2s and ROW 'AP2s' is the F22C and gear ratios. ROW AP2s, get the different wheel sizes, suspension damping and spring rates, different geo, and some changes in the gearbox; these are in addition to the visual changes externally and internally. Frankly, and I may be a bit biased here, but the ROW AP2s are the pick of the bunch, they get all the improvements of the AP2 and keep the F20C, bi winning!

Oh I wouldn't buy an AP2 with F22, I would still prefer F20.
