Hey guys, gonna replace my worn carpet in my dc5, just wondering if anyones done this before and if there are any obstacles involved or anything i should know. If anyone can find a DIY thread that would be awesome... Thanks in advance.

You will need to cut the section underneath the dashboard as it is all one piece. You won't be able to notice it so it should be ok. As everyone said before, probably need about 2-3 hours to take it out, vacuum and refit.

This guy... knows what he's talking about.

Basically take the front seats, centre console and door sills out... then work your way from there. You'll see what parts need to be removed as you are doing it.

I had to cut the carpet part that goes under the handbrake lines as I didn't want to unbolt it all... but this is covered by the centre console, so you can't see it.

its quite simple, just refitting some of the carpet into little gaps can be tricky. Once i placed the carpet back in i stapled the part of the carpet i had to cut which was 2 sections from memory just so that it doesn't move or anything not like it would being underneath the centre console anyways.
