well just took purchase of my second ED civic dual carbu version. Now the only problem is that the stupid thing is slow as.

The only mod i have done to the motor is the seperate air filters and upgraded leads and plugs.

Is there anthing else that is cheap and simply to upgrade ? i don't want to go pulling off heads or forging bottom ends and stuff like that.

wouldnt bother doing anything more.

an exhaust if you really wana, but theres not much else to do. its just spending money for nothing. you spend 1500 bucks, get nearly no gain out of it, and realise you coulda just bought a SOHC vtec motor and put it in.

Some people chop the carby springs, which is cheap I guess. Don't bother with the Weber things IMO, not worth it.

Exhaust...well you could go with those N*Power 4-2-1 headers that people keep buying from Ebay, apparently they're not bad especially for $120. Full exhaust you could do cheaply (2" press-bent, mild-steel) for probably $500-600 but IMO it's not worth it.

Do the carby mod, with 2 individual air filters, replace your fuel filter, and if you want a bit of boost, you can try to put in one bottle on 'WYNN's' octane booster. That thing works good on mine.. Lol

I already done the carby mod with the 2 indivdual air filters, but i shall replace the air filter and il see if i can feel the difference with the WYNN,s octane booster. Well i love the sound of carbys and just want the work on the current motor i have. I don't have the know how to do the EFI conversion lol

Do you guys reckon is would be worth advancing the timing ?

nope. the motor is not designed for perfomance. Its designed for economy. Anything you do will have a negative effect on fuel economy, and not give you any performance gain.

yeah i know there's not much i can do to the carby motor, But it's just somthing till i save up enough money to fully strip my other d15b4 and get it properly rebuilt and whack it in along with a manual gearbox :).

plus BuiEG, I don't know how to do the carby to EFI conversion lol and i don't want to pay someone heaps of money to do it either lol

Seriously, don't bother. You wanna save up money to rebuild another motor, but you also want to waste money doing pointless Mods to the carby.

My old ed was totally stock. I literally did not touch the engine except for taking tthe air box off. All I had was coilovers and camber kits, and rims, and it was such a fun car, handled like a go kart, but wasn't too fast to get me into trouble.
