View Full Version : Honda INTEGRA VtiR new engine cost?

I have a 1994 VtiR INTEGRA and most likely bent the valves ruining the engine, got quoted for 2300-2500 for a fix. I'm just thinking if anyone knows a good specialist to install just a new block itself with low kms every other part I have in the car is fine.

If anyone knows roughly how much it would cost, would be appreciated thanks.

Valves are in the head. You need either new valves or a new head lol. And $2300 is a rip off to replace valves.

Get any VTEC B-series head (preferably OBD1). B16A2 head, B18C2 head, B18C7 head... all will do the job.


But if it were me I'd just get the valves replaced with OEM ones. From a good mechanic it shouldn't cost more than $1000-1500 surely.

$2500 valve repair/replace is a joke when you can get a new head for a fraction of the price.

If he's bent the valves. Pistons could be damaged , cylinder walls could be cracked all sorts of problems , not just a simple head or block swap. Have you opened it up and inspected the motor yourself or this just a piss fart quote from mechanic?. Depending on your budget and intentions you could get a replacement short motor , rebuild your engine , build a b20vtec etc . So need to get this information first

I think he dropped his car into 2nd gear instead of 4th gear at like 120km/hour from 3rd gear (might have read this in another thread).

how much what would cost? no one here have the slightest idea what is the damage.
