hey guys and girls
i recently bought an extractor from monsta performance, which is stainless steel, the problem is, after i installed it, i took it for a run, and when i came back, i can smell a smell like a burnt oil or something, so i thought the extractors might be leaking, so i unbolted it and bolted it on with care, but the smell is stilll there. was wondering if ppl can help, is that the smell the engine produces b4 it goes through cat? or is is because the extractors are new and have some combined smell when the pressure goes through it?

its probably just burning off various cleaning agents that have been used to washer/preserve the headers. dont worry, it will usually smoke and smell for a couple of days.

When you "unbolted" the exctractor - did you properly torque(tighten pressure) each bolt etc to OEM spec ?

It MIGHT be your catylic convertor has blown ?!? Is it a funny, eggy (sulphur) smell ? Any new noises / performance change since installing the header ??

um, i cun think cat had blown cos the smell from the exhaust is fine. its just coming from the enigine bay, i dont noe, i used all the parts that came in the backage, including the head gasket, so yeh, lets hope it is the burning off of the cleaning agents. ill wait a couple of days, if still smell, then ill take to some exhaust workshop, cos i really cant stand the smell, lol

When i installed my twin loop muffler it had thsi real straing smell for awhile. I think its just the metal and chemcials around it. It went away after a week or soo after it burned all up and muffler was used alot. I woudl think same goes with extractors.
