EG Fuel Light - How much fuel remaining?

How much fuel is left when the fuel light comes on in EG civics?

If it's more particular... a 1995 EG8

I generally have about 5 litres.
I believe this has been asked and answered before.

It's rather simple to find out how much, drive until it comes on, fill up and minus how many litres it takes to fill from 45(the capacity of an EG tank).

Yeah about 5L as above, at least that's what my calculations are in my EH9

generally how far will 5 litres of fuel get you on a 1.6L engine?

I get around 550 kms from 40 litres.
So around 70kms per 5 litres, from a D15B

The manual says light come up at 6L. So with six, you could push 100km on highway.

also, the method stated above wont work to calulate because, the fuel tank isnt exactly 45 L and also, when u fill up, you fill the filler neck also, wich can hold a few litres

ah yes didn't think about that.
I guess if you're full and you do as I suggested you can work out how many kms per litre and going by the manual you have 6 litres @Xkms per litre.

Well I've done this experiment (by accident :( ). I ran out of juice at around 80km after the light came on - highway driving. Consistent with 6l to empty - and that's bone dry empty!!!

with the increase in fuel price. $$$

Running on low to extremely low fuel level tends to ruin the fuel pump.
Remain concerned about dirt in the bottom of
the fuel tank clogging the filter and lines downstream of the
pump prematurely, or possibly wearing mechanical parts on
the pump, causing the pump to have to work harder, meaning
it draws more current, aging electrical parts more quickly,
etc.

Haha, I'm a uni student.. thus I'm poor.
But I was actually just curious since I've usually just filled up when I've driven around 400-450kms

So you're saying don't wait for the fuel light to come on to fill up?
Also would a fuel system cleaner additive or something of the sorts clean that up?

I have a D16Y1 EG Sedan. I get about 450km before my light comes on, then I fill up :)
