I want to change the standard turn signal lights in my Civic Si 2010 model from the standard bulb to amber LEDs but i dont understand what the manual is saying.

Could you perhaps show us what the manual is saying?

Would be more or less pull the mirror apart and remove the bulbs? I removed my mirrors from the mirror housing by quite literarlly yanking it out (carefully). Give that a shot. You might be able to access your bulbs from there (there are 3 ball/socket joints, you need to unclick each one individually.

These are the front turn signals should have said that

It is saying to change a turn signal bulb for the left turn the wheel all the way to the right, then remove tips that hold the inner fender, pull the fender away from the fender and bumber,(on some types) you may need to remove the air intake duct to get acess to the light assembly, remove the socket from the headlight housing by turning it 1/4 turn anticlockwise.

So i take a panel off to change them.
What kind of designer makes it so hard to change a bulb on a car and the manual doesn't even tell me what kind of bulbs it takes their are 2 per side.(the FN2 civic may have the same design), the manual says mirror ones as well as the CHMSL have to changed by honda.

ah i know what you're talking about now.

in the civic FD it's reachable through the engine bay, but the lowbeams aren't (like you). It truly is, turn the wheel, unclip fender lining, reach up and in and pull the right bulb out.. I think yours will be T10 bulbs (T10=wedge base bulb, 10mm wide), but i'm not sure.

Is it worth the effort to change to LED's though? They're just more likely to blow and are still yellow anyway

I think the reason they do it through the wheel arch is so that a) you don't attempt it yourself and u pay ur mechanic to do it. b) it allows for tighter enginebay packing, which seems to be a fashion nowadays - the days sexy long bonnets are well over

One looks more like a T20 the other may be a BA15S.

And for my first mod i am chaning all lights to LED as i hate the yellow white look of normal halogens.
Headlights, High beams and foglights are another story.

I have to find good bulbs that give me the HID look(white with blue tinge), that still give are bright(55w) and give good luminace on the road.

In the FK2 i can change the lowbeams, Highbeams and position lights via the engine bay.

Well i am not going to pay a mechanic to change a lightbulb.

My second mod will be replacing the clear grill with the sports black grill(like the type r has)
