Just wanted some advice on what would be better/more fun as my daily. Looking at buying one of these and not sure about which to lean towards.

Driven the EG and it was great fun.

Also, after some mechanics in Melbourne that can do pre-purchase inspections on conversions.

Thanks!

thats a tough call

i prefer the EG sedans over the EK sedans (i love my car) - but i like the EK hatch over the EG hatch lol

if its a type-s h22 i would go for that - but if its not than i would get the EG

EG sedan hands down for me. Much nicer looking car - has beautiful curves!

Are the engines registered to the car?

B18C7 IMO is a better engine to be playing around with compared to a H22A.

H22A for a daily.

Any reasons why?

More torque means less fapping around with the gearstick and trust me cruising 100kph in 5th gear at 4k rpm is very tiring...I'm referring to the b18cr 4.7fd gearbox. Personally I hate the ek design but the interior is space age compared to the EG (omg blasphemy?!)

Maybe daily wasn't the right word haha, will be my main car so I want it to be fun aswell. H22 provide the same thrills and pace?

B18C is more fun. Revs out better, nicer GBox ratios for 'fun' driving etc etc.

the ek interior is a hell of a lot nicer lol

if you are new to modding cars go for the B18c - the H22a is a more advanced route to go for research and parts - if your not going to mod it and just cruise around as a daily than get the H22a as its easier for daily driving - but hell if your gona do that - may as well get a rolla sportivo lol

tough call but i'm going to have to go with EG sedan. looks much nicer than EK sedans. the B18C in a small package like a EG is more fun to drive if you like revs.

yes the EK's interior is nicer but 90s honda interiors in general are low rent so i wouldn't even care about that.

lol compared to most other brands of the same time period they are pure class

Is the EK much bigger inside? Felt a little cramped in the drivers seat of the EG. Won't be modding much yet, on my P's.

Knew the EG was good when I drove it and had more fun in it, than any of the $150k Audi's I've driven (worked in a dealership)

Cheers for all the input

the stock EG seats are pretty fail - one of the first things i would upgrade for comfort =)

i have a bucket as the driver and stock on the passenger - everytime a mate drives my car im like... "man this passenger seat is so uncomfortable its embarrassing"

eddyR

haha well yeah, it wasn't all that comfortable, but in terms of leg room I was struggling!

The EK is a bit bigger inside and you'll have awesome black dash and trims, not the gray old-folks-home of the EG interior. You'll also get a lot more upgradeability in terms of dash/trim options i.e. cheap and plentiful double din centre console, cupholders, CTR recaros and CTR CF cluster (porn IMO). I love the swooping dashboard but **** me dead I'd rather sit in an EK.

Cant wait to see progress, pics!!! Always loved EG Sedans with b16s, 18, etc, more fun engine than H22a which is also much heavier

^ lol.
but like other people said h22a for daily, more torque and ur not sitting on 3.5k rpm on the highway
ek ftw.

I don't do a lot of highway driving personally since most of my daily driving is suburban. IMO just buy a daily and a weekend car. Get the best of both worlds :)

If only I had that sort of money dougie...I don't do a lot of highway driving either so that doesn't matter too much.
As for torque? I drive a Peugeot 406 with a 100kw 4cyl and weighs as much as a commodore. Thing is so gutless, I'm upgrading, no matter what I buy haha

can't wait to see some pics. good choice on the EG, there's nothing like a B engine crossing into vtec.

That's the main issue resolved. Any thoughts on the mechanical check in Melbourne? Surely some one knows a reputable Honda performance mechanic? :)
