b16a cam gears on d16a8

hey guys, ive been told that the b16/18 cam gears will fit on the crx (d16a8)

can anyone confirm, only reason im asking is i still have a set of cam gears from last car and would be good to reuse them on new project :)

it will be off by a tooth, buy adjustable cam gear for this engine.

Would it work given that it has VTEC lobes?

most of the forums ive read, say they will fit, although it will be a tooth out, i can adjust that with the cam gear however

You may have to reverse it to have the camgear sit in the correct alignment. Or not - the last time I looked at direct swap was with a B20A prelude head and I would have had to reverse that set. Teeth count and profile are ok.

If you proceed, transfer the markings off the oem camgear to the new ones with paint, so you have the correct marks and you can ignore the ones on there already.

And if it skips a tooth on fitting, remember you can take the outer ring off the central hub, rotate it the one tooth, and rebolt it to the hub. Easier than resetting everything.
