i have read on and on about the differences between these 2 boxes, but i still have not found my answer.

i am currently running a b18c2 vtir engine nd box. i need to change my gearbox ONLY so i have looked into a type r box. is there any differences i need to take into consideration WITH THE GEARBOXES, such as bolts or cv joints nt being the same?

B18c2's tb is lower then the b18c7/R . So the air box arm will be different as the vtir is bending down more then the type r. Hope that helps

b18c2 box - 4.4fd no lsd
ITR gearbox- 4.7fd and lsd.

ITR gearbox would give you that fast acceleration. overall ITR box > vtir gearbox.

you'll be laughing

biggest shit thing abt the b18c2 is that it has longer gear ratios then the ITR box.

Arent only 2nd and 3rd are different (longer in the b18c2 vtir) and ofcourse the FD.

(confirm guiz)

my main concern is with the CV joints if they fit straight in or need to get type r CV's?

get a B16a box. Close ratios and bang for buck.

1st: 3.230
2nd: 2.105
3rd: 1.458
4th: 1.107
5th: 0.848
Final: 4.400

AUDM driveshafts are all the same (b series hydraulic, EK/DC and EG chassis). Same 32mm hub nut too.

If the only difference is 2nd and 3rd would it be possible to get something from MFactory and just change those 2 gears?
