Just curious if the D16z6 Block internal parts (piston rods, bearings) are the same as D16y1

was looking online saw piston rod set from US, and interested ...

anyone could help ?

cheers

the parts are interchangeable - they are basically the same engine - many people have bought parts from the USDM D16z6 that fit onto the D16y1

are they the same? i doubt it - i would say that there are very slight differences to warrant a different name of the engine

so far from the research that others and myself have done - we are hard pressed to come up with any differences between the two engines

the only way to know for sure is to import a D16z6 and put it in a garage with a D16y1 and tare them both down to compare - so far (as far as we know), nobody has done this

They are close to exactly the same motor and most if not all internal parts are interchangeable.

Some differences on the outside from memory, long time since I researched the two motors..

AUS D16Y1 is slightly more powerful with a tad higher Compression

they run a thinker HG

The US boys use a Y1 HG as a mod to up comp

But yeah their fuel is rubish for sure

anyone know what the best HG is to use on a D16y1 for compression?
most reliable with best gain?

I did but its been about 6 years since I worked on my D16Y1 before blowing it up due to over boost :(

Sorry man but Honda will have it no problems
