Just get a cheapie and custom fit yourself otherwise a branded SRI is not that much cheaper than a CAI. Save up and get CAI :)

Watch out for all the SRI hater that this thread will attract!

I personally think an SRI is still a lot better than the OEM airbox!

Any particular reason you're after an SRI? Get a GruppeM!

Stock = free
SRI = 50-100 (cheapie custom) 150-200 (branded)
CAI = 250-350 (used-new)
Gruppem = 1000

Sometimes I forget that not everyone is as stupid as me and spends their entire pay cheque on car mods. :p

why would you cheap out on an EP3..??
if you got one money musnt be to much of an issue..
get something you wont want to change a week after purchase....
Mugen or guppeM is the way to go...

I have looked at the GruppeM, installing it looks painful! The air that it takes slightly above the bonnet, would that take in water?
I'm slightly swaying over to the INJEN sri due to the easier fitment.

I am afraid of the water logging issue which comes with cold air intake, as a precaution i would like a good SRi, if you have a link for a purchase of a SRi, be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Get the hydroshield with the Injen?

And yes, water can get into the GruppeM vent. Not enough to worry about. Though when I wash my car I take special care not to spray into the vent. :p

if youre after performance, quality and ease of install. id stay clear of short ram intake to be honest either stay with the stock box or get an injen cold air or if youve got cash to burn go the gruppem. sri performance wise is terrible, worse than the oem airbox. an oem airbox inhales cooler air than a sri ever can, the only thing the sri has over all the other options is the sound of the vtec. ive had mugen, sri and currently have cai and cai is so far the best hands down. it even helped me shave of 3 seconds off my p.b at winton, haha. Of course if buying cai dont drive over puddles and buy a hydroshield for reassurance.

I cant help but doubt that a cold air intake shaved 3 seconds off your lap time, thats more likely to be attributed to your confidence and skills improving.

Back on topic i would buy a cold air intake or you could save money and customize the direction of airflow into the stock air box so it recieves more cold air similar to the mugen intake

up to you though, seems like your keen on a SRI so buy whatever you think you'll be happy with, if you are happy with it great and if you hate it you'll just learn a lesson. thats life
