Hi,
I was looking at doing a front end conversion to my EG Civic Sedan..
I want to get my whole EG front converted to EK..
Would I need to source a EK Sedan to convert, or would I be able to use a hatchback front end? Are the lengths any different?
How much do you reckon it'll all amount to? Will I have to source the parts from a wrecker and get a body shop to complete it or could the wrecker do the whole lot altogether..
Thanks

I would think a front cut would be your cheapest option. if you got one at the right price

But would I need a half cut from a EK HB or a Sedan ? Is there a difference in lengths ?

BTW, is it legal to follow through with this ?

Legalities will be up to an engineer to decide, speak with one first, I don't see any probs besides the EK has a crease over the front guards, I would have thought this would not suit the clean "smooth" lines of an EG, just my opinion though.

You will need to *mate* the fenders... ie use most of the EG one but use the end of the EK one .. this involvs cutting and welding, then sanding and respraying

as well as that.. front bar, headlights, bonnet... radiator support.. its been done a few times =]

Just need a pair for front fenders, radiator support off EK, doesn't matter for HB or sedan, they all the same. Than you can go with aftermarket headlights, bonnet and front bar.

But you have to decide either 96 or 99 EK because they are different.

Are there any places that would do the whole conversion at once ? Instead of buying parts from a wrecker then getting a Panel Beater to finish the job off. I would rather that, than be running around to different places.

So the EK lengths are the same ? Was thinking that it'd be like the EG where the bonnet fenders etc. are longer on the HB than the Sedan.

Do you mean creases as in the flared guards ? I was thinking of matching the back guards to suit the fronts ?

Will I have to do it that way ? Couldn't I just use the original EK Fenders and replace my EG ones ?

Thanks.

99% sure the EK ones dont fit..
thats why 3/4 of it will remain EG shape, then where the bonnet/front bar/headlights meet the fender, the EK shape is needed.

hope thats clear enough

Oh ok, so I won't get the flared guards that the EK has ? I'll have to do them myself ?

Fenders are.... the metal piece on top of your front wheel, from your door all the way to your headlights and front bar.

Also just wondering Y change to EK? Y not DC2?

Cos i know there's a kit for EG to DC2

Because IMHO i don't really like the DC2 headlights, whereas I like the EKs..

And to zco, i was simply asking where the welding starts, not what fenders are. Whether I would weld the EK guards on or if I keep the original EG guards. And I would prefer you to give a reply relevant to my question. Thanks for your concern though.
