Hi guys,
45,000km service is coming up.
I have always liked to use high quality oils but am a little unsure what would be the best viscosoity for a car with these kms.
Would Mobil 1 0w-40 be ok or is that too thin? Would a 10w-40 be ok?
Also i am guessing it is not safe to run full synthetic oil too?
Is there a good oil thread on here?

You can run full synthetic oil.
The acceptable viscosities are 0w-30, 5w-30, 10w-30, 0w-40, 5w-40 and 10w-40. Personally, I use 5w-30 except during summer when I use 0w-40.

Anyone know where to get Royal Purple oil for a good price?

Xw40 is the max recommanded thickness however. I run 5w-30 and I reckon it's thick enough for the euro. Mind you, in the USA the Acura dealers use 5w20 oil to improve power and economy on their TSX/Euro
I run Mobil 1 EP (5w30, long service) in my euro, Mobil 1 Gold (0w40) is rather expansive for what you get... Since you'll just drain it in 6mth time anyway.
Ps: do a search, lots of oil threads here... For example http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?24150-Synthetic-Oil-for-Euro&highlight=Oil

So 5-30 Is the best option?
I live in tassie and in winter -5 degrees is not uncommon.

0w-30 then, if you cant find any then just settle with 0w40... IMO Tassie won't get hot enough and your engine won't get stressed enough to warrant a 40 weight, but 0w30 is a bitch to Find and is usually expansive. Mobile 1 gold 0w40 is designed for 911 turbo and Nissan GTR, highly stressed engines in comparison to our k24
