Got some more of the problems sorted out with the car.
With the 277hp tune, the vtec wasn't engaging and the secondary butterflies weren't opening. Therefore the motor wasn't making any power up top.
Now the car is conservatively tuned running about 23psi with the tyres still losing traction on the dyno.
I guess i'm happy with the results but wanted the car to make that sort of power on lower boost.
Hoping to make a little bit more power soon at the APC dyno day where i hope the inlet temps will be abit lower than on the friday i tuned it on. It was 37 degrees in the room and the inlet temps were about 77degrees.
Dyno pics will be up soon
LOL, as soon as i saw the title your name came up straight away CHU85.
Damn good figures, would love to see some video footage of the car running.

thanks for all the positve comments guys.
To the honda experts out there: anyone know what is holding the power back?
I reakon i'm running too much boost and only making this much power.
I've yet to do any headwork, so i know a set of cams would come in handy.
Also, we forgot to tune the cam gears. Are there alot of gains to be had?
I know that since i couldn't get the secondary butterflies to work properly, i've kept them open and now there is practically no bottom end. Will a larger plenum help me out here?
If anyone knows some answers to these questions, please reply.
fark me those inlet temps seem a little high, i mean you're running a fair bit of boost but still
Are the cam gears set properly? If not you could be losing a few hp there. What exhaust and downpipe are you running also (i am assuming 3", if so no real issues there).
With the secondaries, best bet would be to ditch the intake manifold and go with something else. Will be a better solution than just holding them open and should gain back some of the lost bottom end. The head should be flowing enough to make decent power even with the stock cams.
Slipping on the dyno isnt helping your cause though, you'd wanna get it strapped down a whole lot better so you can get it tune right and see the full potential. If its not holding on the dyno i hope you can get it sorted for the street, even mine has traction issues in 1st so yours would be an animal to get going!
330hp is getting there, but i would think you'd want closer to the 400hp mark yeh?

cheers for the info poid.
Yeah the inlet temps were really high that night. ****in humid as..
Didn't have time to adjust the cam gears. Worth it? not if u can only get about 5hp cos dyno time is expensive.
Yeah i'm running a full 3'' and am considering getting a new plenum done. But how good is a custom one gonna be? Not many people know what to do with honda's.
Can't help slipping on the dyno. its just the way the car makes power that is shit. So late in the rpm. Not making full boost till atleast 5500rpm. Even on the street the car doesnt brake traction till it hits full boost. Then u gotta hold on!
you dont really need a custom plenum, just get a good one from the US instead. At least thats the way i'd go about it. What turbo are you running again? Seems like you are making full boost quite late, i would've thought given the power you are making that you'd be getting full boost around 4-4.5k
When do you start to see boost?

still some nice power figures, get that traction down n get those things fixed and this will be an absolute monster.

good work CHU85.. i guess we are getting there!! i wish i had my engine put together so i could compare and helpout:( but soon (i hope)...
if your going to change your intake manifold... go the SKUNK2 racing, its bigger and a lot better that could be good for ya? vtec engines love gettin air in them so give it as much as possible
as for boost... are you using a decent boost controller? if you are shouldnt matter what the temps are you should be boosting the same whenever.
all i remember about 150kw atw on 10psi i think while i was running the engine in with 2.1/4 zorst and no vtec.. never really had my car on fuul power so cant compare to tell ya?
good luck with man keep goin! and f%^k anyone who says hondas shouldnt be turboed:thumbsup:
