Hey guys,

I just looked under the bonnet of my 2005 Integra Type S and noticed the power steering fluid is low. It says on it only use genuine power steering fluid. But I have some castrol P/S Fluid hanging about. It says " Suitable for most P/S Sysytems" and " Compatible with other P/S fluids"

So can i use this? or should i get some genuine?

Thanks.

P.S also, the car has been sitting for about 4 weeks because i lost my license. ><! , i start it twice a week though. Could this have anything to do with it being low?

please use ONLY honda power steering fluid.

You CAN use the castrol stuff - but you should do a full flush and fluid replacement as soon as you can with the OEM stuff

Use the OEM power steering fluid. It's one of the fluids that's highly recommended to use OEM (radiator coolant/fluid being the other)

^^ agreed 100%, hondas are pretty fussy with certain fluids, P/S and ATF, ive seen what dexron 3 does to an accord v6 box, its not good. You dont want any seals to swell.
