Hey guys,
I wanna get new wheels for my CL9, its silver, so I was thinking maybe going for black or charcoal wheels but I dunno what will suit or what size. I don't wanna sacrifice on handling so I was thinking of going for the 17' sport wheels and spraying them charcoal, or AP2 wheels but I'm not sure if they'll fit? I'm open to opinions. also ideally I don't wanna spend more then $1500 including tires.

Both rims will fit bit offset won't be the best so you may want to run spacers.

you think AP2 wheels will look good tho?

Might look a bit small. If you can trial fit and see how they look. Or Google search it, I'm sure someone out there would have a pic of it.

u planning to lower the car?
wheel width, offset and ride height do make impact on how the CL9 looks.
the OEM 17" is 17x7, offset +55, at stock ride height it looks ok.
once you go wider and more aggressive in offset, at stock height it may look mexican.

The "Lowrider" look...

Or it refers to anyone who lives south of the Tropic of Capricorn (lol).

There's a few pics in this thread: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?102841-fn2r-18-quot-wheels-on-a-CL9
Haven't seen em on a silver car before, but I've seen em on a black CL9 in person and they look even better in real life than they do in the pictures I reckon!

Yeah pretty sure the EP3R are 17's - same wheel as FD2 Sport. Not too sure how they'd look though - I was considering them for a while but couldn't find any good pictures.

I think my mind is set on 7 spoke wheels, I think they suit the CL9 the best. so it will probably be out of the FN2 type r wheels or FD2 sport wheels.
does anyone know the width/weight of both??
and also width and weight of the stock 16 inch CL9 rims.

Pretty sure the FD2 Sport are 17 x 7", no idea on the FN2R though. Don't have the 16's myself but for your reference, stock 06-08 lux 17" are 17 x 7 as well, with 225/45R17 tyres. They're definitely skinny wheels, and the stock offset (+55 off the top of my head) means that the wheels don't fill out the rear guards very well.

stocky cl9 rims are 16x6.5 +55 from memory

Wasn't it 16x7 (or 7.5) by 45?
Lol someone get the measuring tape!!!

Don't think it could've been 7.5 since even the 17" lux (and sport I believe) wheels are only 7" wide. Double checked the spare just then and offset is indeed +55 for the stock 17x7.
Damned Honda, these cars would've looked a lot better stock if they'd just given us just a little less offset!

After searching, I think I'm keen on the FD2 CTR wheels in gunmetal, but they are 7.5 inch wide with an offset of +60.
does anyone know if they fit on a CL9 without spacers???
It works out to be 11mm closer to the struts, is that too close???
p.s check out this site http://kgm.tiwing.com/calcs/offsetcalc.htm
I think its worthy of a PQ point ;)

Good luck in finding fd2r rims let alone in charcoal. I think Nightryder was selling a set of white ones! I'm about to fit a set of 18x8 45. Apparently this size sits just right!

Ok so I just bought a set of Enkei Monza Wheels, 18x7 ET+40. which I think are the same as the OEM FN2R Wheels? Correct??
The Supplier Said they weigh about 11kgs each which isn't too bad, I'm thinking of fitting 215/40 tyres, which I think are a good size as they will stay clear from the guard for when I lower the car, which leads me to ask.....
If I decide to compress the springs by 40mm, Will I need to replace my shockers? or will it Cause My shockers or anything else to Fail after a while???
I know the best way to go would be Coilovers, but I cant afford them atm
opinions???

Do not compress springs if done incorrectly will be a catastrophe. To compress springs they must be heated and not all springs can be heated and reset properly
