Hi im having trouble removing my front lower control arms. I think im stuck at the ball joint under the brake assembly. I have removed all bolts and what not, but the lower control arm wont just come lose at the ball joint section. So how do i get the lower control arm off?

heres a trick to get it off.

jack up the lower control arm right under the ball joint, jack it high enough untill you can fit either the handle of a ratchet or a breaker bar in between the control arm and the hub. once you got it in release the jack and the ball joint will pop out.

tip: do not use hammer to hit it.
Put a breaker bar between the lower control arm and balljoint and stand on the breaker bar(it sound stupid but worked for me).

I've just re-assembled it all on again caz i couldnt be bothered. I'll give it a go tomorrow. So i put a jack underneath the bolt of the ball joint and jack it up. I don't get where im meant to put the breaker bar, got a pic that u can edit in paint for me? Thanks.

So im meant to put the bar in between the ball joint rubber and the lower arm control? and then finally jack it down and it should pop out?

I think im gonna put a ratchet in between and try stand on it instead of the breaker bar, feel like the rachet will hug the ball joint more and cover more surface, making it easier for me to stand on it xD

BTW hmetro so you loosen off the nut. Place a jack underneath the loosened nut and jack it up? then place a ratchet/breaker bar in between ball joint and lower control arm. Then stand on the bar? Just wanna make sure i got everything down for 2morro.

what i did is i took the nut off, put a breaker bar in there (made sure it is not gonna slip) than stand on the breaker bar and it come off. be careful it may slip

dont use a pinch fork, they suck, they damage your rubber boots and can potentially ruin them, id say steer clear of pinch fork.

Well i replaced both lower control arms. I found it easier to jack up the lower control arm, hammer in a 19mm ratchet/spanner with the opening section between the lower control arm and ball joint. Then loosened the jack and it poped em both out for me in 1min. Much easier xD
