Hi Guys
Im gonna sound really dumb here but here we go...;)
I have a 04 Manual Accord Euro that has done nearly 150K. About a month ago, I got the clutch kit replaced (Exedy OEM Kit - HCK-7506) and the fly wheel machined. The clutch was really hard to press & I though pressing the pedal would be more softer after replacing the clutch. When I told that to the repairer, he said that he replaced the clutch as requested but if it needs to be softer, they will have to replace the hydraulics. Then I asked a friend of mine and he said the original Honda clutch kit (which was 4K!) has got more softer diaphragms than the Exedy OEM kit and that why its harder & replacing the hydraulics wont do any good. Would anyone know who is right and a solution to make the pedal softer?
Thanks - Sean

pedal is directly linked/relative to the clutch pressure plate. The hydraulic line is a medium between - you CANNOT adjust this feeling...its simply the springs/leaf of the pressure plate that is heavier feeling. Might be something else wrong - should be heavy at all for a OEM kit. You might of been given a HD pressure plate instead.

Thanks for the quick response Ben. So you reckon changing pressure plate might help? Thanks

I think it is an installation problem. I have the Exedy OEM clutch and pressure plate, but for DC5R and the feel is the same as the original clutch.
Moved to the Accord Euro section and added [CL9] tag to title.

As aarong said above - it
Shouldn't be so stiff. Either incorrect part or installation issue. Get it checked again by the mech that installed it

That's what I though even though the repairer gave me this speech thinking that I'm some kind of a retard! Thanks Ben & Aaron... u2 are champions...

Does the clutch slip or hobble when engaging the clutch ?
Is there resistance when getting into gears etc ?

Hi Ben... Well it doesn't slip or hobble its just really hard/tight when I press it before engaging the gears. But there is a very small resistance when changing the gears in the morning when its really cold but after about 5 or 6 KM, it becomes OK... Any thoughts?

I just got my clutch replaced with a exedy sports organic, pedal is as soft as cake! Probably installation fault or wrong part just as the others stated. Mechanics are theifs, will make as much money as they can off you and tell you bs stories about replacing this or that.

If ur in Sydney, give Western Clutch in St Marys a call 96231233 and speak to Scott.
They fixed my clutch issues that another dodgy mechanic had done.
