Hi everyone.
I'm about to start modding the audio system in my new RB3.
I need some assistance in removing panels on the dash/centre console.

Here's the thread for how to do it on the RB1 - http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?123355-RB1-Centre-Console

Is there a similar thread somewhere, or a link for how to do this for the RB3?

Cheers,
Steve

here you go. use at your own risk as i cannot gurantee that JDM version is the same as our car as this instruction is based on the JDM RB3. if you want the whole document, you can either download at alpine japan site or pm your email address.

hope this helps.

It should be not much different on RB1 and it's should be easier as it's already double din console.

Thanks Philip. I'll look at that when I get home (work PCs block it).
Chatting to a friend of mine at a well known Brisbane car audio place seems to indicate that once you get a 'key' main panel off, the rest is easy as you just work down/across from there.
And Atjo, the RB1 seems to work from the centre of the dash out from what I can see. Aparently the RB3 is somewhat similar.

Will post pics up as I'm doing mine.

basically u need to pull the top cover off and the air con panel off.

the diagram shows you where the screws and tabs are etc.

Awesome.
Thanks for that.
I've also got the exploded view of the whole dash from a Honda technician today.
It's VERY low resolution PDF/Fax but gives the general idea and where all the screws are.

It will come in handy for when I need to remove the pocket at the bottom of the dash in the centre for when I fit the head unit down there.

I'll be keeping the factory head unit in place and running a LOC from the speaker outs behind it to the aux 1 in on my Clarion head unit. I have an HX-D2 24bit cd/tuner/pre and Clarion don't make a steering wheel control for it.

For a sticky perhaps?
As good a copy as I could get of the MY2009 - 2011 Odyssey RB3 dash in exploded view from the Honda service manual.

Cheers guys.
I spent quite a bit of time searching on the web and as you'll see if you search as well, the US version is the only one you can find.
Quite a different vehicle and so their instructions do not suit.
They're rather jealous that we get the JDM version - looks much sleeker and agressive.

I spoke to a local Honda spare parts guy and he quoted AU$1500 for the soft copy version that they refer to when servicing vehicles - OMG!

When I get around to doing the stereo, I'll take pics and do up a tutorial on it.
