Hey guys, just found out this morning that some bastard scratched the sh*t out of my car. Down to the metal of the car, just wondering where i can get touch up paint as i'm scared that it'll rust. I'm pretty certain that Honda will have it, but just wondering if anywhere else would have it ?

It's a green EM1.

find an auto paint store who can custom mix a small bottle of touch up paint...alternatively call up someone who can do touch up professionally...i don't know about syd but in melbourne that's what i'd do...

most autobarn's have a paint mixing section, usualy hidden in the spare parts area, go in to your local store and enquire about it.

Don't take my word but i heard somewhere that autobarn doesn't get the paint to match close enough most of the time and that you're better off going to a reputable paint mixing shop or go panel beater and get them to do it.

Sympathies mate.

I agree with Sydsyd. Find a local paint shop who does automotive paints, give them the paint code inside your door on the sticker, and just as for a small touch-up can.

if i was id get half a litre (minimum in most stores) instead of a tiny touch up bottle, most places cant match your cars colour perfectly since most of the time there are a few tones of the colour code or w.e other reason. ask them for the cards/slips for the colour code and find out which one matches yours the best. you need a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly good one to figure it out

best thing to do would be, take it to a detailer!
my car was keyed to the metal, 2 big lines... and it actually didn't rust. sat there for like 4 years too lol!
but yeah, DETAILER! I tried diy, it doesn't really turn out as good as you hope it would. but I've seen results from a detailer, it's like the car was never scratched.

go through insurance pay your excess and get it all fixd 100%

touch up jobs can only do so much and once you know where it is you will always notice the colour difference no matter how many people cant pick it you wil beable to.

thats imo

I agree with hitoriko ..... a touch up job will always look like a touch up job..... if you've really had the sh@#! scratched out of it, go through Insurance and get it all fixed properly. It's so frustrating when that happens .... happened to me 3 years ago ..... I went through insurance but for memory, I had to report it to the police ....

How many panels? My panel beater charges $200 for full respray (each panel). I've paid as little as $100 for repairing decent scrapes (like 1" x 3") which he blended in perfectly, wouldn't notice it. Of course I supplied my own paint.

You're on the ball here man. I do detailing as a side job and there's a general rule that if you can feel the scratch with your finger nail it's gone through the clear and won't polish/buff out and needs to be repainted.

OP, don't buy touch up from supercheap. it's all acrylic paints and doesn't match up great to your colour. also fades over time. what you want is proper 2 pack paint. check out a paint supply shop (as already mentioned) and ask them to mix up some paint according to your paint code. :)
