wondering if my dc5r will backfire once i put in my new catback exhaust? its an rm01a and iv also got a injen intake. will it backfire if it gets run with no cat? thanks
Not really no. Backfires are generally caused by the engine dumping unburnt fuel, and when it ignites it gives that crackling sound. Cant see how a stock car with a catback and injen will make it backfire. You generally hear it on tuned cars, where the A/F ratios are different.

Both wrong answers. A back fire is when there is not enough air velocity going into the cylinder, so when the inlet valve opens, the hot exhaust gas heads back out into the intake manifold, and ignites the fuel/air charge. Doesn't happen much with injected cars, used to happen alot with carby cars. That's the reason that open filters are frowned upon.
Its normally a loud bang, or crack, sounds like a gunshot.

Is it a bad thing when cars back fires/crackles when off the acceleration?

If it backfires through the intake, like I described, yes it is.
If its just an exhaust crackle, no it isn't.
