Hi Guys,
I have 95 honda eg D15Z engine and it basically shuts down randomly, usually when I slow down. I took it to an auto electrician and he reckons it's the solenoid. Anyone know where I can get the solenoid from or know anybody who can fix it? thanks!
Auto or manual? if manual do you have it in neutral when slowing down or do you down gear? could be the weather too, been in a turbo diesel hilux (auto) and it just randomly kept turning off, assumed it was from the cold because after a while of revving it and heating it up it never happened again.

hey kyzz,
it's a manual. It usually shuts down on me when I have it on neutral (that is when I have the gear stick on neutral or the clutch pressed down). I've driven it a few times with the car warmed up but it still shuts down.. so not sure =)
your fuel pump might be playing up, next time you go for a drive or just to test it out, when you drop it in neutral keep your foot on the accelerator and keep the revs ~3k to maintain a rate of ignition in the engine, could be cutting off due to lack of firing up? youll seem like a wanker to everyone else but if its what keeps your car from turning off its worth doing haha, just a suggestion though, im no mechanic.

Does it idle fine?
Sent from my custard cannon like Peter North.
yeah ahah or it might even be a leak in your clutch slave cylinder, mightnt be disengaging the clutch normally which makes the car still think its in gear and in turn just stall like usual. If your in inner west, Ive got a mate at eddy nash automotive in croydon off parramatta road, their relatively cheap and can find pretty much exactly whats wrong with your car. good luck man
